The Friend's of St. Bridget's Skenfrith is an independent charity which raisies funds to maintain the fabric of the church and to provide education about its history and heritage.

 

Since its inauguation in 2010, the Friends has held many significant events, generating funds and interest in St. Bridget's Church.  

 

In 2012, the Friends provided funds towards the restoration of the roof and replacement with natural slate, improved drainage, masonry repairs and interior redecoration, including conservation of historic wall paintings.  The Friends also obtained grant funding for specialist cleaning and repair of the Skenfrith Cope and a new museum-quality case with LED lighting and security.

 

In 2016, the Friends funded repairs to the Tower which included re-setting loose tiles, repointing, repairs to oak louvres and re-gilding of the clock faces and cockeral.

 

The Friends also helped with much needed restoration in the churchyard.
