Summer comes early to Skenfrith

The organ was stripped for repair at the beginning of August 2009. The contractor John Bleney  completed the work in July 2010 - a dedication service is being planned.

Skenfrith had more than than a dusting of snow in the winter of 2009/2010

Doctor Who came to Skenfrith in February 2010. Despite the bitter wind and the slight covering of snow, roses were blooming in the gardens and geraniums were in full flower in window boxes. The church parking area was decked out with a horse trough, seats and small palms were waving in the cold breeze. There was even a very strange sight - a bus stop! It’s many years since such a thing was seen in Skenfrith. A surreal yellow school bus was awaiting its moment of fame in the Bell car park. However as the Time Lord disappears in his Tardis so Skenfrith will return to early Spring 2010 - or is it early Spring 1910?

The Friends of St. Bridget's Skenfrith, has been formed as a limited company and has successfully applied for charitable status. The Friends is a secular organisation which will work with the PCC to ensure that the church building is repaired and conserved. http://www.friendsofstbridgetsskenfrith.co.uk
